Mark Francois

Leads with over thirty years’ experience as a registered Structural Engineer in the design and supervision of a broad range of structural and foundation systems around the Caribbean. Mark’s
specialisation beyond civil engineering is in structural analysis and design as well as construction management.Mark has served on a number of national and regional committees, working groups and initiatives related to the academic and commercial advancement of structural engineering, including the Board of Engineering of Trinidad & Tobago; Chairmanship of the Seismic Engineering Committee of APETT; a Fellow of APETT; membership of the National Building Code Committee and the Structural Steelwork Committee of APETT. He has also served as Past President of the Association of Professional Engineers of Trinidad & Tobago, and is a Director and co-founder of Beston Consulting.

David Blake

David is a veteran chartered Civil Engineer with over thirty years’ experience in the design, construction and maintenance of roads, related structures and
buildings in the Caribbean. He has held several senior positions on major infrastructure projects, including project co-ordination, planning, design, supervision, maintenance systems, preparation of contract and tender documents and liaison with public utilities.
As County Engineer in Jamaica he managed all maintenance work for government buildings and infrastructure in area of 4,000 square kilometres. David has recently completed the supervision as Chief Resident Engineer on the Solomon Hochoy Highway Improvements Project, and was Project Highway Engineer to the Project Execution Unit of a Rural Roads Maintenance Management System.

Kevin Granger

Our multi-faceted rising star. Kevin has acted as Director, Senior Structural Engineer, and (quite frequently) Site Engineer for more than a decade at Beston.
He has completed a number of Structural Design projects, including the design of the Queen’s Park Cricket Club Members Pavilion and the McDonald’s Restaurants on Cipriani Boulevard and Grand Bazaar. His experience also includes a number of Civil and Infrastructural Design projects with a period dedicated to Project Supervision, where he was appointed Resident
Engineer on the National Highways Year II Project. Kevin obtained his BSc in Engineering at the University of the West Indies and a MSc in Earthquake Engineering at Imperial College, London. In 2011 he was awarded the “Outstanding Young Engineer Award” by APETT.

Wayne Loquan

Wayne began his long and illustrious engineering career in 1979. In 1995, he left the Government service and entered into private practice as a partner of Beston Consulting. He has served as Managing Director and Director in charge of all Civil Infrastructure Projects of the firm since 1999, overseeing and often actively involved in some of the largest infrastructure projects undertaken by the firm. He retired at the end of 2013 but still works from his base in Canada.

Grenville Phillips II

For over twenty-five years, Grenville has worked on an exceptional range of project management and engineering projects in virtually every territory throughout the Caribbean. His work
includes project management and design; inspections of roads, bridges and buildings; structural, environmental, highway and coastal engineering; vulnerability assessments; consultancy
and training; and acting as an independent design reviewer, adjudicator and
expert witness. He has won multiple awards, holds several degrees, and has had work
widely published in engineering journals. Based in Barbados, Grenville is a member/fellow of Associations of Professional Engineers in Barbados, the UK and Canada.

Dr. Jeffrey Phillips

Jeffrey is a Structural Engineering Consultant with over thirty-five years’ experience throughout the Caribbean and Canada. He has served on several APETT and BOETT committees and as an independent director on the board of Home Construction Limited. He has been an expert witness and has published several technical papers. He specialises in the evaluation and repair of fire damaged structures and those affected by corrosion related deterioration – the area of his PhD
research. Jeffrey has been assessing fire damage for clients and insurance brokers for over thirty years.

Dr. Ian Khan Kernahan

Dr. Ian Khan Kernahan is one of the region’s leading authorities in bridge design, having designed close to 100 bridge structures in Trinidad & Tobago, only. He has also pioneered the design of Post-Tensioned slabs on-grade. Dr. Khan Kernahan currently lectures at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Trinidad.

Nigel Landreth-Smith

Nigel Landreth-Smith began his career in the construction industry in1981 as a Quarry Manager. From the year of 2000 he joined BBFL Limited as a Senior Site Technician inspecting the construction of KFC outlets that BBFL did the structural designs for the construction of new KFC outlets at Chaguanas and Couva. Over the years he has been involved in mostly in civil and bridge works within the region and locally.

Ralph Seecheran

Mr. Seecheran joined the firm back in 1993 when they were Blake, Beston, Francois & Associates as a structural draughtsman, working on residential, commercial, hotels, resorts and bridges. In 2003, he was promoted to the position of Site Technician and his first assignment was the Santa Rosa Bridge Expansion project on a full time basis. He has since supervised numerous structural and infrastructure projects.

Stephen Alexander

Stephen Alexander has over 35 years’ experience in soils & Materials testing and supervision inclusive of geotechnical investigations. He has over the years supervised works locally and throughout the Caribbean, namely, Antigua, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, Grenada, St. Vincent. Since 2015, Stephen plays an important role the Soils and Materials component of the weekly internal training programme. Stephen has over the years maintained high expectations for the quality of work he delivers. Now in his role as a mentor, he is obligated to continue this training program to ensure that the highest quality of work is produced by the Beston site staff.

Julien Dalrymple

Julien Dalrymple has over seventeen (17) years’ experience in the construction industry as a successful BIM/CAD Specialist and currently functions as the structural division’s drawing office supervisor. In addition to his drafting experience, Julien is also a certified Project Management Professional.

Kirt David

Kirt David is a Senior AutoCAD / Civil 3d Technician with over 18 years’ experience in both Civil & Structural works, Starting with the company back in September 2003 he worked in both the Structural & Civil offices, However after finally settling in the Civil department he was trained in the Land desktop software and used effectively for a couple years until branching over to one of the most highly recommended software in this era to produce civil works known as Civil 3d.Kirt has also travelled to Autodesk University in Las Vegas in 2008 & 2014 where he also gained valuable knowledge & experience, He now continues to seek ways to further enhance & develop the department by streamlining the processes to bring necessary satisfaction

Merlene La Fleur

Merlene La Fleur is a Qualified Accountant and has been employed with the company since 2004. She has more than 16 years of progressive experience in providing quality accounting and administrative services. She has worked in all manner of accounting and finance roles. Mrs. La Fleur is a former Teacher and is a certified facilitator in the “Good Enough Parenting” and “I Choose Us” Movie/Schema therapy programmes.

Cindy Villafana

Mrs. Cindy Villafana joined the BBFL Team in 2005, employed as an Accounting Assistant, and progressively changed her career path to manage the operations of the Civil Division. She was officially appointed as Office Manager and HR Assistant at the Civil Division in 2008.

She is responsible for supervising the daily duties of the administrative department, and other supportive staff. In her position as Office Manager she ensures the smooth and effective running of all office operations including, but not limited to, Tendering for Proposals and coordinating Company Events. In her position as HR Assistant she performs all transactional administrative duties in support of the objectives of the Company.

Surendradath Marajh

Mr. Surendradath Marajh has over 15 years of work experience in the Oil and Gas Sector of Trinidad & Tobago as an HSE Professional, with both Upstream and Downstream Industries.  He also has experience in the local Manufacturing, Construction, and Marine Sectors. This wealth of experience, in these sectors, forms the basis of Mr. Marajh’s comprehensive approach to providing sound Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Management solutions.   Mr. Marajh has successfully provided HSE Consultancy Services for over 45 organisations; these services include training, mentoring, auditing, and the development and implementation of HSE Management Systems that meet internationally accredited HSE Management System requirements such as OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001.
Mr. Marajh is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), and has implemented Zero Accident Programs with great success for many Clients, helping these Clients achieve notable HSE Performance Milestones.
Mr. Marajh is a certified and authorised OSHA Trainer with the Department of Labour, USA, and is able to provide OSHA training for the Construction, General, and Maritime Industries. He is also a Certified Scaffold Inspector, having been trained and certified by Safety and Access Ltd (UK). Mr. Marajh works extensively as a Lecturer with the U.S. National Safety Council as a Defensive Driving Instructor.
In addition to the above mentioned, Mr. Marajh is a Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor, and is certified by the to provide training in both First Aid and CPR by the American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI) and the American Heart Association (AHA)
